Dictations
|
Listen to the complete sound file, without stopping, and write the dictation on a piece of paper. You should limit yourself to a maximum of 3 times. When you have finished go on to the comprehension question and gap fill exercises. Finally go back and check your work with the dictation transcript. Don't stop the dictation while it is playing. You will have sufficient time to write down what you hear. Most of the dictations have 150 words. The higher the level you choose the better. You should always try to push yourself. The more words you hear at a time the easier it is to understand what's being said. Phrasal verbs and expressions can be confusing when heard as separate words out of context. |
