This means that when I was at the post office it was in my mind and I did it. I didn't forget.
- I remember sending the parcel.
This means that I recall this event in my mind now so I know I did it.
"Remind" means to tell or cause someone to remember something.
- That food was terrible. Remind me never to eat here again.
"Remind" is also used to refer to a situation that causes one to remember something.
- Oh, that reminds me. I have to take me car in for service.
- This cold weather reminds me of when I was a child and I used to play outdoors all day long.
